HOW TO START WORKING OUT
Are you ready to workout, but you're not feeling motivated? You might be asking yourself, "how do I begin?" If these thoughts are going through your mind, keep reading.
It is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, such as eating healthier and exercising. I know it can be hard to eat healthy - why? Because eating healthy is expensive and it takes a lot of time to prep the food.
If you are not ready to change your eating habits, it’s ok! Choose smaller portions of what you normally eat, add vegetables to your diet, and fruit. Most important of all, drink plenty of water! Nowadays, you can also add fruit to your water to give it flavor and you get the benefits as well. You can go to In N Out and order a hamburger protein style, eat a handful of fries, and drink water. Losing weight and staying healthy consists of 80% how you eat and 20% working out. You can workout for hours at a time, but if you don’t change your eating habits then you will have a harder time.
Here are some steps or tips on how to start working out if you are not doing it yet:
1. Take Selfies
Yes, I did say take selfies! Taking selfies on your before and after is always the best way to see your results. Track your progress with taking selfies and setting goals! I don’t know about you, but when I see pictures of myself I can tell if I need to start taking some pounds off - I know it’s time to get working. So smile, and pose! SMILE YOUR ON CAMERA 📸 📷 🎥
2. Start Small. Make One Change at a Time
Start by changing your portions of food and replacing soft drinks and juices with water. Setting your timer and walking for 15-20 minutes either early in the morning, before you start your day, your lunch break, or simply after dinner. The point is just start. You can also walk at home in your living room in circles - that might make you dizzy, but hey, you are walking! You can also use water bottles as weights to workout your arms. Or you can simply just do 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a week of some sort of movement. Riding a bike indoor or outdoor, swimming ect... There are many types of exercises. If you can buy a membership and join the gym, I personally go to the park and walk/run and while my son plays in the playground, I workout my arms.
3. Make a Plan/Set a Goal
Make a weekly plan. For example, I set my plan on Sunday’s for the week. I set my plan to workout on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s and I stick to it. If I can, I'll go to the beach on Saturday for my extra day of workout. That’s how I’m starting small. Set a goal. What motivates you to loose a few pounds? Is it your health, a wedding, a trip or maybe summer? Or, you simply just do it for yourself to feel better. The point is setting a goal. If you don’t want to go alone, set a workout date with a friend, that way you motivate each other! Write out your plan and goals and put it in a visible place so that you can be reminded of it.
